This weekend, the Roblox game suffered a gigantic (and mysterious) outage.
Via a blog post, the developers promise that player data is not at risk.
Roblox: no data loss for users
It won't have escaped your notice if you are an avid Roblox user, the game suffered a major crash late last week. Enough to create panic within the gaming community which has more than 40 million daily followers, more than 50% of whom are under the age of 13. Fortunately, for a few hours now, Roblox has been accessible again and the developers have expressed themselves via the official website of the game.
'We will issue a press release with more details as soon as we complete our analysis, as well as the steps we will take to prevent such issues from recurring in the future,' read the official game blog.
The good news in this grim affair finally comes down to one small line. Indeed, the teams behind Roblox explain: “To our knowledge, there has been no loss of player persistence data”. Indeed, faced with the mystery surrounding this global blackout, many people think that personal data could have been stolen, which would obviously not be the case.
We will therefore have to wait a little longer to find out what really happened on the side of Roblox. In the meantime, if you're a fan of the game, you can take a breather, your personal data is still safe (well, normally).
