How to install Split APKs or Modular APKs from a ZIP
Some of the Android apps are split into several APK files and packaged as a ZIP. We explain what you need to install this kind of file and how you should do it.
If you have a Split APK, also called Modular APK, in your hands, the installation is different compared to normal APK files because you will have to do it in an additional app.
The first thing to do is to download Split APKs Installer (SAI) by pressing the green Download button below:
When the download is complete, press the notification that appears on the screen. You can also find the APK file in the download folder and tap on the lower right corner of the screen.
Android will ask you if you want to install the application, press OK at the bottom right.
In two or three seconds, SAI will be installed. Press the Open button at the bottom right.
With your new app open, press the Install APKs button.
The first time you use the app, you will need to give it permission to access your photos, media, and files.
You will see a file explorer. Locate the ZIP file that contains the APKs in modules, mark the box on the right, and press the blue Select button on the lower right corner.
The first time, an Android window will surely warn you that the system does not have permission to install apps from this source. Tap Settings.
Mark the option Install applications from unknown sources and go back.
An installation like any other will start. Tap Install on the lower right corner.
After a few seconds (or minutes depending on the weight of the app to install) SAI will show you a notification on the screen to let you know that the installation is complete. You can close the window on OK or directly open your new app installed on Open.
Apps in this format are increasingly popular. If you usually find them, you should keep the SAI app installed to be able to open them normally.
